“The presence of somebody’s books in a mentally disturbed person’s home does not make them accessories to a killing. But right-wing rhetoric toward liberals and humanists like those who attended the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church has been exceptionally violent for years. Liberal groups are often called “Nazi” or “Nazi-like” by O’Reilly (he even said that about our own Arianna Huffington). Savage says he’d “hang every lawyer” who tried to establish constitutional rights for Guantanamo prisoners, describes Obama as an “Afro-Leninist,” and said the folks at Media Matters were “brownshirts.” He describes Rep. Wexler as a “Nazi” and calls Nancy Pelosi a “Mussolini.”“

“Add a refreshing dash of hand lettered flavor to your design with the Studio Lettering fonts, a collection of three charming script faces and a useful ornament font. These genuinely “smart” fonts feature sophisticated OpenType engineering, robust character sets and extensive language support!”

Haha. I guess he asks all his questions in that format.

A social experiment... I hope this works!

I’m curious about what people pay for electricity. The genesis of my curiosity comes from my neighbor who runs his AC nearly all the time in the Spring/Summer/Fall. About a year ago his bill came with mine in the mail and I saw that he pays almost four times what I pay. Also, I’m moving to Dallas, TX next month and I’m wondering if what I pay on average per month is indicative of other places in the country (or world).

So, I live in Ann Arbor, MI in a one bedroom apartment. I pay $20 per month on average from DTE Energy. If you feel like contributing to this experiment, reblog this post and add your information. Thanks.

So think about this: a version of Apple’s app store for Apple TV. This could serve as a basic game platform for Apple–not so basic if the company beefs up the graphic chip in the device. Moreover, apps for Apple TV could offer the sort of info snacking that iPhone apps do: weather, yellow pages, photo sharing, viral videos and so on. I assume video, photos and entertainment apps would be most popular, but there is someone who will do anything. And that’s the beauty of an open environment.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot. It’s a huge opportunity.

(via bijan) Great idea. Hopefully an update for the Apple TV is coming soon. I always thought it could be a really useful living room tool. It just needs some love.

Dear God,
Wow, what a trip this has been. Jerusalem has been great. I really love what you’ve done with the place. Everybody’s really nice, except that loudmouth right behind me who’s yelling “Obama, Jerusalem is not for sale.” I don’t even know what that means. I don’t blame you, though.

I’m going to assume you had something to do with my meteoric rise these past few years — because, really, how else did that happen? When you had Bill Clinton possessed by evil spirits, that was really a nice touch. Anyway, I was hoping I could ask you for a few more things:

1. Please make sure your boy Reverend Wright doesn’t say anything stupid until after the election. I’d like to think you still have some pull with him.
2. Please make John McCain fall asleep standing up, or forget his own name, or something else that makes him seem really old.
3. Also, I still have no idea who to pick for V.P. Can you give me a sign? I’ll have one of my aides carry around a bush in case you want to chat.

Okay, I gotta go to Germany. We’ll be in touch.

Yes we can,
Obama

“A team of Swedish researchers has found that the presence of a receptor that regulates general serotonin activity in the brain correlates with people’s capacity for transcendence, the ability to apprehend phenomena that cannot be explained objectively. Scientists have long suspected that serotonin influences spirituality because drugs known to alter serotonin such as LSD also induce mystical experiences. But now they have proof from brain scans linking the capacity for spirituality with a major biological element.”

“The Vimeo staff has decided that we are no longer going to allow gaming videos on Vimeo. Specifically, we are no longer going to allow game walk-throughs, game strategy videos, depictions of player vs player battles, raids, fraps, or any other video gaming videos that simply depict individuals playing a video game. Videos falling into this category will be subject to deletion as of September 1st; new videos of this type will be removed.”

So exciting.

A very controversial decision, but we pretty much had to do it.

Controversial, but sensical. Aren’t there sites devoted just to video game videos? I think Diggnation is sponsored by one.
