I’ve been living in Dallas for about eight weeks now and I’m amazed at how often people run their AC. It’s maybe 80 degrees out today and all the AC compressors within an earshot of me are roaring. Maybe this amazes me because I’m from the North, which people point out to me on a daily basis… As if being from the North is some sort of disability.

At this point, we’re all just pilling on. However, this is a pretty amazing picture, regardless of who the mother is.

Hungry Scientist: nerdy cookbook for kitchen hackers - Boing Boing

I want this. I’m so bad at using cookbooks, but it’d look cool on the bookshelf.

I really like Merlin Mann. But isn’t he just using his daughter as a prop here? This is a really disturbing image.

Move to Dallas on Vimeo (via Vimeo)

I made this video from clips of my recent move to Dallas.

“Michael Doyle and his pals in Detroit decided to stage a post-apocalyptic Edwardianpunk croquet match, so they snuck into the ruins of the old Packard factory and had an afternoon’s match while dressed in Edwardian finery.”

awesome…

“The handmade knickers — which date back to the 1890s — bear the monogram “VR” for Victoria Regina. They are open-crotch style, with separate legs joined by a drawstring at the waist, a popular style in the late Victorian era.”

whoa!!

Judge Judy Taping Interrupted By Earthquake (via Salvatrucho213)

obligatory SoCal earthquake post…

“Randolph-Macon College is in Ashland, Virginia. Chances are you’ve never heard of this school prior to the party school listings. Every other school in the top 20 at least plays D-1 sports. Here’s the top 20. Yep, slotted right in there with Texas, Florida State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Georgia and West Virginia is a tiny school on the outskirts of Richmond. We’ve already told you that Florida and their bingo wing’d girls took the top spot, but how in the world did a tiny school with only 1,125 students slide in at number 6? Lots of bukkake that’s how.

I just about shot coffee out of my nose when I read that.

Last Thursday I shook Simon Pegg’s hand. So amazing.

Keith Olbermann and Simon Pegg. This weekends Soup was EPIC.

Also, and this may sound weird, their set looks much bigger than I anticipated. I figured since they worked solely on a green screen that they were shooting in a closet.

Hot damn, I love that show. I hate E!, but I love that show.

I love this behind-the-scene shot of the Soup studio.
