When I moved to Dallas this Summer I did essentially the same thing. My girlfriend and I drove down with whatever I could fit in the backseat and truck of my Civic. My best advice? Throw everything out. I’m serious. I threw out probably 90% of my stuff. I keep some clothes, my essential financial, etc. papers, and my computer. It was the scariest and most liberating experience of my life. There wasn’t anything I couldn’t replace once I got down here.
