This is the only guy I trust to save the world.
It’s time for another edition of “Kevin does some IMDB research so you don’t have to!”
The Adventures of Pete and Pete was a forgotten gem among other Nickelodeon classics like Salute Your Shorts and Hey Dude. It requires a better homage than some guy’s Geocities page, yet so far, nobody has come forward with a better version than this. Still, not bad.
PnP is the first time everyone saw Michelle Trachtenberg, but certainly not the last. She’s noted for being in Euro Trip and Buffy, but she also played fellow Nick cohort Amanda Bynes in an episode of Robot Chicken.
Big Pete kinda got screwed after the show, as his most well known since then is Bagel Boy from 40 Days and 40 Nights. Little Pete, however, decided that he wanted to roll with the Nickelodeon Gravy Train until he could pick up social security, and was in All That until 2005. He was 23. Now he just watches Kenan on SNL like the rest of us. Probably with Kel.
The most successful actor post-PnP, by far, is Artie, and the surprises don’t end just there. He was also featured in only 6 of the 14 episodes, but looking back, he seems like such an integral component of the show. His resume since then? Regular roles on Reno 911, King of the Hill, Carnivale, and Nikki. Also acted in 30 Rock, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Balls of Fury, Newsradio, Seinfeld, Vegas Vacation, Jerry McGuire, and the Beavis and Butthead movie.
Fun Fact: Big Pete, Nona, Dad, the Bus Driver, Endless Mike, and Natasha were all on Law and Order at one point. And the Mom played a judge in another courtroom drama.
The show also featured a baffling array of major guest star appearances: Selma Blair, Steve Buscemi, Ellen Cleghorne (SNL regular in the 90s), LL Cool J, Chris Elliott, Frank Gifford, Janeane Garofalo, Deborah Harry, Iggy Pop, Adam West, Michael Stipe, and Larisa Oleynik (swoon). 14 EPISODES.
I have the DVDs. I’m good.

You forgot to mention the controversial third season of PnP that never happened.

“The first two seasons were released on DVD in 2005 and the third was planned for 2006 but was indefinitely postponed”

The email I sent last night. This is really happening.

almostyou:

Hello my dearest dears,

FRP and a few others who might be interested, I am sad to inform you that I will be leaving this incredible place and program. I am not, however, sad about why I’m leaving. I have accepted a position as the Editor in Chief of a start up magazine in the OC. I am simultaneously thrilled and terrified about this, which makes me believe that it’s the right decision.

I cannot even begin to express to you all how amazing my experience here has been. I am so proud to have been a part of such an amazing program and working alongside some of the most talented, smart, and dedicated people I have ever met. Certainly the families that I have worked with have made my time here seem worthwhile, but it is my co-workers who have made my time here so enjoyable and at certain times, bearable. I could not have made it with out you all and I hope that you realize that.

But before you (and I) get all weepy, you aren’t rid of me just yet. My last day will be May 2 and I assure you that I will be in full force until my very last day.

Thank you for putting up with my loud mouth,

Elizabeth

Congratulations. I can’t wait to hear more about the magazine/content. I’m sure you’ll be an amazing editor-in-chief.
SPORTSbyBROOKS » Shock: MLB Ballpark Video Crews Are Perverts?

“Softcore” videos? Was there something going on at Comerica Park none of us was aware of?

I’ll be there next week for the Sunday night game. I’ll be on the lookout.

I bought an apartment and I’m moving in.

Inspiration. This is a pretty awesome loft set-up. I’m hoping to do something similar with my new place.

Once the networks succeeded in getting their content pulled, they promised to launch a “YouTube killer.” That turned out be an empty and inexact threat. YouTube didn’t really need the “real” shows and movies to sustain itself. It soon developed its own freaky internal chemistry. (At this point, it’s probably best to think of YouTube as a genre unto itself.) What we the people and the networks really wanted was a YouTube Pro—a site that would aggregate television shows and movies in one place and stream them in high-quality video.

Is Hulu the future of television? - By Michael Agger - Slate Magazine

Hulu on Slate. I’ve been playing with Hulu more and it’s pretty nice. The interface is clean. However, there seems to sometimes be a buffering issue.

John Mayer Is My New Favorite Announcer

I want to hate J.M. because he seems like such an ass, but he really is funny.

I don’t know if you ever saw it but his show on VH1 was super funny too. Also, he was pretty good on Chappell Show.
